We need to figure out to to change a few of the config options. How to rebind the strafe movement? How to specify where save games files should be saved to on the card? Maybe that would keep the “Save Game” option from locking up my BJ2?
Anyone here know much about Doom and how the config options are set?
Doom is not a Java game — copy to the Doom.cab file to your blackjack II, then use the Start > Applications > File Explorer to find the CAB file, and click on it using the center D-Pad button. This will install the software. After the software is installed, goto Start > Applications and scroll through the icons until you see your newly installed software. Note - Doom’s icon is very non-descript.
i’ve tried to download this twice…with understanding a successful download prompted by my bj2…but i can’t find it anywhere…maybe i’m missing it..help if you can. thanks.
robangle, When you download the CAB, you should have the option to save to “Main Memory” or to the “Storage Card” (if you have a microSD card that is) .. If you select “Main Memory”, the default save location is in “My Documents”, if you select “Storage Card” its on your Storage Card.
To run the CAB file you must be in Start > Applications > File Explorer (See the Tips & Tricks post about how to install a CAB file)… After you’ve installed DOOM, the shortcut to run it should be in Start > Games.
I’ve found a version of DOOM that is far superior to this one, and I’ve got a complete write-up on where to get it and how to install it. And, YES, you can Strafe AND Save in this version!
I tried to uninstall both this and pacman because they were slowing down my phone but they are still in the start menu but are not actual programs. Is there anything I can do about this?

It looks like the DOOM port is work-in-progress. Check out the RCX Web site for details (http://revolution.cx/DoomCE.htm)
