DOOM
Doom, now available for the Blackjack 2. Download it. Now.
This is an updated version of DOOM for the Blackjack 2 that lets you Strafe and Save your game!!!
The CAB includes the shareware WAD for DOOM 1 but you can download any DOOM 1 or DOOM 2 WAD file and copy it into C:\Program Files\DOOM

Note: you can only have 1 WAD file in your DOOM directory at a time. I suggest moving the WAD files you aren’t using to C:\Program Files\DOOM\WADs.
Check out the MyBlackjack2 Forums and the MoDaCo forums for more info on the game. Big Thanks to SPV3d (i think?) for the port and thanks to macatron for giving me the heads up about it!
You can download the previously posted RCX port of DOOM here (it doesn’t support strafing or saving).
Courtesy of macotran, here are the control:
- Fire Weapon: *
- Select Weapons: Number Keys
- Open Doors: Space Bar
- Strafe Left/Right: Left and Right soft keys (by the jog wheel)
- Open the Menu: Backup Key (by right soft key)
- Quit Game from Menu: Select Quit and then press 9 (instead of Y)

We need to figure out to to change a few of the config options. How to rebind the strafe movement? How to specify where save games files should be saved to on the card? Maybe that would keep the “Save Game” option from locking up my BJ2?
Anyone here know much about Doom and how the config options are set?

It looks like the DOOM port is work-in-progress. Check out the RCX Web site for details (http://revolution.cx/DoomCE.htm)

How do I instal doom and other java games onto my phone from my PC? I have a blackjack II.
April 22nd, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Doom is not a Java game — copy to the Doom.cab file to your blackjack II, then use the Start > Applications > File Explorer to find the CAB file, and click on it using the center D-Pad button. This will install the software. After the software is installed, goto Start > Applications and scroll through the icons until you see your newly installed software. Note – Doom’s icon is very non-descript.

robangle, When you download the CAB, you should have the option to save to “Main Memory” or to the “Storage Card” (if you have a microSD card that is) .. If you select “Main Memory”, the default save location is in “My Documents”, if you select “Storage Card” its on your Storage Card.
To run the CAB file you must be in Start > Applications > File Explorer (See the Tips & Tricks post about how to install a CAB file)… After you’ve installed DOOM, the shortcut to run it should be in Start > Games.
Hope this helps.

Hey, check out my thread in the forums.
http://www.myblackjack2.com/forum/applications/doomand-yes-this-one-allows-you-to-strafe-and-save-sticky-please/page-1/
I’ve found a version of DOOM that is far superior to this one, and I’ve got a complete write-up on where to get it and how to install it. And, YES, you can Strafe AND Save in this version!

I tried to uninstall both this and pacman because they were slowing down my phone but they are still in the start menu but are not actual programs. Is there anything I can do about this?
January 15th, 2009 at 10:25 am
I almost crapped a brick when I saw this game available! Although, I can’t figure out how to save a game. It always locks up after I type in a file name and try to enter it. Then I have to start the entire level/campaign over. Asny ideas?

Download link doesn’t work for some reason…
January 15th, 2009 at 10:23 pm

Hey, thanks for posting this up! Also thanks for the mention and kind words as well. I’m really happy that I was able to track this version of DOOM down, and I’m even happier that everyone else gets to enjoy it now as well!:-) I really do love this site, and I’m literally blown away by the community that it has developed into. So, with that said, thanks for creating such a wonder place for BJ2 users to interact with one another and exchange ideas and files!

January 16th, 2009 at 1:15 pm

January 16th, 2009 at 7:29 pm
Excellent. Thank you very much!
January 17th, 2009 at 8:26 pm
is there any way to fire without having to hit the “function” key then “s” every time? Btw great site David
January 18th, 2009 at 6:48 pm
You only have to hit the s/* button to fire your weapon. This is set by default when you first startup the game. So, what I’m trying to say is that as soon as you start playing, you just need to hit the s/* button. Don’t hit Fn and then the s/* button because that would end up wearing you out during a hard level.
As for the Fn key…yes it will still toggle the alternate characters within the game, so if you happen to hit it and then can’t select any weapons all of the sudden, then you’ll know what happened.
January 24th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Most of you must’ve figured this out, but ’6/G’ does Gamma correction, and ‘caps/shift’+walk in joystick makes you run. Make sure you hit ‘Fn’ twice after using caps/shift to make your weapons fire without the need of hitting ‘Fn’ repeatedly.
January 24th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
I forgot to add, all the cheats that worked on PC also work here. Before putting in the codes, hit ‘caps/shift’ twice and you’re good to go.
January 26th, 2009 at 10:03 am
Yeah, I actually forgot to mention the Gamma correction and the Run function. Thanks for posting that up!
As for the cheat codes, how do you enter them in? The only way that I remember how to do it in the original game was to use the “~” command to enter into the drop down console. If you could, please post up on how you put the cheat codes in, and what they are for that matter.
Thanks!
January 29th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Nevermind…I found them!
Go here:
http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Doom_cheat_codes
You just have to make sure that you hit the Fn key twice to get the keyboard into letter mode (the game loads up the numbers and special characters by default). Once you put the code in, just hit the Fn key twice again and that will put you back in business (weapon selection and firing the weapon – i.e special characters).

I was stupid and downloaded this to windows 6.1 i deleated the actual application but now the icon just stays in my games folder……does anyone know how to get rid of it? please help
April 8th, 2009 at 6:44 pm
This game is awesome! I haven’t played DOOM is forever and it’s a welcome visit to the past. It’s amazing when I can play a decent first person shooter on a phone, these days… speaking of which, is there a .cab for Duke Nukem 3D for Windows Mobile 6.1? That would be awesome!
April 10th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
to uninstall the game.go to settings, then remove programs, then find the file(hopefully you no were you saved it) then just click on it.
June 6th, 2009 at 2:46 pm
ershnuff…I was thinking the same thing! I can’t find Duke for my BJ2. That would be the greatest. But having DOOM on my phone is already flippin’ sweet!
July 28th, 2009 at 11:18 am
Now if I could only strafe with the volume rocker, and shoot with the return/back key… my life would be bliss…
