ActiveSync 4.5

ActiveSync 4.5

Download

You probably already have this, but if not, get it. This is a must have for any Blackjack 2 user with a Windows XP machine. ActiveSync will sync your contacts, calendar, notes, etc. with Outlook, and also provides a very nice interface for managing files and programs on your Blackjack 2.

ActiveSync has been replaced by the Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) in Windows Vista. Goto your Control Panel > Windows Mobile Device Center to access it.

ActiveSync is suggested for many of the hacks on this site.

Check this out if you are unable to see the “Windows” directory on your Blackjack 2 using ActiveSync/WMDC.

plays2, FYI – Vista does not use ActiveSync, instead it uses Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) which can be accessed from Vista’s Control Panel.

I’m having trouble with my ActiveSync- can anybody help? It looks like it’s syncing, but when I remove my BJ2, the calendar isn’t synced properly..so today I tried to click on “calendar” or “notes” to change settings, but nothing pops up – as well as when I right click, the settings tab pops up, but the font is gray and I can’t open it up. WHAATTT is going on???

    Greetings,

I have installed and reinstalled ActiveSync on the PC many times. ActiveSync hangs on the window “Retrieving Settings…?” . It recognizes the phone displaying “SGH-i617″. I even can view files in Explorer, from a Mobile Device icon. I can see that I have files there, I can put files ON the phone, just can’t take them OFF. Again, it hangs at “Copy & Convert to desktop computer format…” window.

ActiveSync says “Connected”, while “Retrieving Settings…” window is spinning. But the “Sync” button on the phone is inaccessible.

    Specs:

    Windows XP SP2
    ActiveSync 4.5
About page on phone reads: “WM 6 Standard – CE OS 5.2.1620″
Turned Firewall and Virus Scanner off when installed ActiveSync and running.

Any help is awesome. I’ve spent a good 5 hours attempting to sync this thing, searching these forums, search engines. To no avail. Maybe I will just have to try reinstalling everything.

Here is a strange one- when I enter data in my Outlook calendar on my Samsung Blackjack, and then travel to a new time zone, it automatically resets the appointment times! Example: I’m in LA, and have a lunch scheduled for 1pm in New York in 2 days. I enter the lunch for 1pm while in LA. I fly to NYC. Now, the lunch is for 4pm! What is with that? Total pain in the ass… Anyone help me with that? email me at mfeder@aol.com
