Google Sync
It’s finally here! You can now sync your Gmail and Google Calendar using Activesync on your Blackjack II! The means you can now sync your Gmail and manage your Google Calendar and Google Contacts from your phone!
Something to note: As far as I can tell you can only have a single ActiveSync connection at a time. If you connect to a MS Exchange server using ActiveSync for work, you won’t be able to Google Sync to sync your Gmail and Google Calendar items. If there is a way around this, please leave a comment!

The problem I have with Google contacts is the limited number of fields. Google doesn’t even have a field for a contact’s birthday! Sure, you could put it in the “Notes” section, but it’s not the same.
I would give it a try if you could sync with Outlook, but as of now it’s just google calendar that syncs with Outlook.
I’m not sure what that comment about Plaxo means.
My Plaxo syncs just fine, both with Outlook, and over-the-air with my Blackjack II.

1. Open the Active Sync application.
2. Click the link Set up your device.
3. Enter m.google.com as the server address.
4. Ensure that the SSL option is checked.
5. Click Next.
6. Enter your full Google Account email address as the User name.
7. Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
8. Leave the Domain field empty. If your device requires you to enter a domain name, enter google.
9. Click Next.
10. Check only Contacts and Calendar.
11. Click Finish.
Press the Sync softkey on the left to synchronize.

Anyone know how to connect to ActiveSync without a Start menu shortcut? I deleted the shortcut from my Start menu and now I cant figure out how to launch it.

Even though this is a bit late others may still benefit from this. After much research I found that if you want an alternative given no Data plan is available. You could sync Google calendar and gmail to Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird (on your PC), then download Birdie Sync… well, if you’re interested, I’ve posted it on the forums:
