LED Alerts
Purchase (or check out the 7 day free trial!)
You know when I pay money for software its gotta be good, and LED Alerts is one of the few programs I’ve shelled out cash for… and it’s worth every penny.
This application notifies you of new Text Messages, E-mails, Voice Mail, Missed Calls and Reminders by blinking your phone’s LED one of 7 different (user defined) colors. Its so unobtrusive, yet so informative.
LED Alerts is the perfect quiet way of letting me know if there is anything on my phone that requires my attention. When i’m at work, I dont like my phone playing a sound whenever I get a text or e-mail, and I don’t like it vibrating to alert me either (vibrating can be loud when the phone is on a hard surface) .. with LED Alerts I turn my phone on silent, set it on my desk and can know if there is anything I need to check on just by glancing at it.
LED Alerts is a brilliant must-have product — I can’t believe its not a built in feature on Windows Mobile 6.

I bought this program about 3 months ago, works pretty good. Some minor bugs. If anyone is thinking of getting it, I will explain the bugs. (If needed of course) Like most of you, I am surprised it’s not supported already. There are 6 or 7 colors to assign to whatever you want.

Judge,
I’d like to know what bugs you found — looks like a cool util. Thanks, Mike

I’ve been using it for several weeks now — works great. Like David says, it’s a must-have!

Nocture,
Go to the Qorefunctions.com web site using the above link. In the upper-right portion of that page there is a large section labeled LEDAlerts - you cant miss it. Click on the “More info” button in the LEDAlerts box. This will take you to the order or download page.

Does the light stay on until you check whatever the alert is for? or Does it just flash a few times and stop?

priscilla,
You can set it up to do either.

First, you ROCK. I am not only new to a Blackjack, but new to anything besides a cell phone!
Second, I have already implemented several of your awesome hacks. Like your recommend on this LED notification program. However, after downloading, when I go to run it, I get this notice:
“‘SetupLEDAlerts’ is not a valid Windows CE application”
Any thoughts as to why and the solution?
thank you.

Never mind. I downloaded the wrong file (didn’t download the CAB file). Should have taken my Ritilan.

Chad,
Hrm — sound like you downloaded the PC Installer (which you run on your PC and connect to your phone via ActiveSync) .. Try downloading the CAB file installer… Here is the link to the CAB file for the 7 Day free trial:

I installed the trial but I only show one color option which is green. I didn’t really care about the colors anyway justu as long as I knew there was something knew to look at so green across the board would work ok for me. Now for the test. I sent myself an e-mail and instead of the anticipated light my phone started vibrating and would not stop. I had to pull the battery to get it to stop. So there are bugs with this software.

Woooo Hoooo, just what I needed, thanks!

The bug I have is the phone requires a reboot once or more a week to get the program to work again. Author does not post the version number on website. I asked if there was a new version to fix the issue and I was told there are no version numbers and just reboot your phone once a week. I stated this was a un-acceptable answer for a paid program. I never heard back. Program is good when it works, but don’t expect support or new versions.

I see there is a posted date. I installed the demo and maybe this new version will fix my issue. If I was told, I am working on a new version with a ETA or no ETA, please check the website for file posting date, I would have had a more positive comment above. I hope this newer version works without reboots!

This is a must have, I never thought about owning this device until David( THE SITE OWNER ) insisted I have it, well now that I have it, its definitely my most used application by far! One little downside is that it will always appear in the task manager….but seriously you will get used to it and its advantages are greater then its disadvantages
Thanks dave, very appreciated, I’m keeping the forums maintained.

Anyone else having problems with it working correctly after upgrading toWM6.1?
I find that the alerts shut off very quickly after upgrading, which kind of stinks considering i purchased it about 2 weeks ago when I still had WM6.0.
Anyone else having issues? David?
September 14th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
With the upgrade to WM 6.1, I noticed that LED Alerts is no longer listed in the Task Manager as a process. I do find it listed in the Processes view as LEDsvc.exe. The memory footprint also appears to be constant at 68.0K.
Have not seen any issues as of yet in regards to it ending quickly. In fact, after reinstalling/activating this application on my WM 6.1 OS, I have yet to see the process end. It has worked without a hitch so far.

October 28th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
To Wruckus: I also have the 6.1 upgrade and I am thinking of adding this app. My only concern is that I want it to work perfectly since I am paying for it….How long has it ran on your phone without any problems?
November 25th, 2008 at 1:29 am
fyi - you can turn LED Alerts off in WM6.1 by running the LED Alerts settings program from the Start menu.

can someone tell me where to find the device owner name? i’m pretty sure i entered the wrong thing and i think i’m going to have to buy it again since the website says it has to be the exact same as what’s on the phone and what i submitted and they won’t issue any additional codes.
