Disable Text/SMS Notification Message

You know that really annoying alert message that pops up after every Text/SMS message you send? Well, now you can get rid of it!

I’ve been putting off creating a CAB for this hack, but over the past couple weeks its really been annoying me. What’s been happening is I send a text message, and immediately start writing another text message. The SMS Notification dialog appears and I start jamming on “OK” to make it disappear, lose my train of through (along with a couple key strokes) .. and inevitably i’ll double-press the “OK” soft-key which corresponds to the “Send” correspond soft-key in the Text/SMS entry screen .. so an incomplete Text message is sent.

Disable Text/SMS Notification Message

It’s been suggested I make note of the following:

  • If for whatever reason (bad signal, etc) your Text/SMS Message does NOT send, you will not be notified. You will have to check your Outbox (Start > Messaging > Messages > Menu > Folders > Outbox).
  • If you would like your “Sent Text/SMS Notifications” back after installing this hack, just uninstall it. (Start > Settings > Remove Programs)
Pocket IE Home Page Hack

Update Pocket IE’s Home page — the default AT&T MediaNet homepage sucks.

I’ve created a CAB file that will update your PocketIE’s home page to be “www.google.com”. Download the CAB file to your Blackjack2 and run it like any other CAB file.

Note: Your Blackjack2 must be Application Unlocked for this hack to work.

If you want to undo the Registry Hack, just go to Start > Settings > Remove Programs and remove the program.

If you would like to change it to something else use the Mobile Registry Editor (found in Applications > Utilities) and edit the follow key:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs
  • Change the “home” string’s value to point at any site you like.

Leave a comment if you would like me to make a CAB to update Pocket IE’s Home page to some other URL — If I get enough requests for a particular URL I’ll whip another CAB file up.
