Ok at first I was using WM6 and I installed all 3, BJ/Surreal/secpolicies then isntalled certs. At first it worked (kind of) it said it was connected but I was unable to browse the internet on my PC. so I restarted the phone. When i tried again it never gave any message when i tried to connect it just hung there at the ics connection screen where it says Status: Check USB cable connection. So I upgraded to WM6.1 and surfed the net and deleted my ForceCellConnection registry value and changed the read only files for my GPRS connections so I could edit them. Tried every tutorial under the sun I could find on the internet to get my tethering working but to no avail. I have absolutely no idea what else I can do. Does anyone have any ideas or a solution to this problem?

I have windows 7 on my laptop… I followed all the instructions and it registers on my laptop, but it doesn’t have internet access… I tried the bluetooth way and my laptop doesn’t pick up my blackjack 2 even though it’s visible and my bluetooth is on! Am I doing something wrong? Can someone PUHLEEEEEZE help? I’m really going to need this when I travel!

I’ve used it in the past, and it works. Thalchak, are you able to sync your phone to your computer via Active Sync/WMDC? if not, then you might want to try a hard reset, and try again.

alex, I’m using the same setup: win7, 64, and running 6.1 on the BJII(6.5 on the Jack). it works perfectly on the i617, and with minimal problems on the i637(have to do the disconnect cell data trick).

black josh, same as above, you might want to try disconnecting your cellular data, and trying again. simple method: tap power button-> wirelss manager-> menu-> disconnect cell data. Then try and reconnect using ICS.

^^^^ I have the same OS as you. After installing everything and rebooting as required I was only able to get it to work once for about 15 minutes. This happened only after several days of trying, trying, and trying again through hard reboots and what have you. I think it only works when it feels like it.

I have everything set, it says connected, my phone browses the net, but my pc will not identify the connection correctly please help windows 7 64 bit windows mobile 6.1

I have followed the step by step instructions posted by savfw on June 2nd, 2009 at 10:58 pm and when I start up the Internet Sharing Application I get a message that says Checking USB Connection. That would seem to indicate that there is something wrong with my USB cable, but there is not, as I can change my USB connection settings to “Mass Storage” and see everything on my phone by navigating through My Computer on my laptop.

What am I missing?

The instructions worked fine for me with my BJ2 w/ 6.1 connecting to my Linux laptop.

However, I subsequently found that my MMS system now fails. I can’t send or receive MMS messages after changing the settings to wap.cingular.
With sending I get “Error, cannot send, check profile settings.” On receive I get “you have received a MMS… click on download to download this message.” upon clicking download, the same “unable to connect, check profile settings” pops up again.

So is ICS and MMS doable at the same time? How to configure?

Okay so I got it almost working.
My computer recognizes it but wont let me go on the internet. It just says “identifying…” and wont identify it. Any help?
