Increase Graphics Performance
Increase your Blackjack 2’s Graphics Performance by increasing the allowed video cache size in the registry.
This hack makes a very noticeable difference in your smartphone’s performance!! Try it out – if you don’t think it does, just uninstall it!
- Application unlock your phone (run the MoDaCo GPS Hack or SDA Application Unlocker)
- Copy and Install the CAB file to your Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone.
- To uninstall this Hack, go to Settings > Remove Programs, and remove the entry labeled “Increase Graphics Performance”
Note: If you downloaded this file on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 and were unable to install the CAB, please re-download the CAB file and try again, the CAB file has been fixed.

Now are the graphics are supposed to be better like when you stream video? Like when you watch YouTube, is the quality supposed to be increased? Not too sure if I needed to do something else after downloading and installing this file because the video looks about the same.

Judge,
Nope – Graphic streaming performance (YouTube, SlingBox TV, etc) and rendered graphics (DOOM, PocketNES) are not improved. This hack allows your Blackjack 2 to save graphic data that it has already displayed (backgrounds, button images, icons, etc.) and then display it more quickly/smoothly the next time it needs to be displays. Its similar to how your Browser cache makes rendering web sites you’ve been to be quicker.

It’s odd. I installed the hack and noticed no discernible difference. Granted, I installed it the same day. But what exactly should change?

Hey David. I am in love with your site by the way. I was just wondering if the increased system performance hack and increased graphics performance hack negatively affect battery life? Thanks!

gnarlydouglas,
The performance hacks will not effect battery life — they merely increase the cache-size available to the phone for different functions. Other hacks such as overclocking (making the phone run faster than its meant to) would decrease the battery life.

Is this compatible with 6.1?

man this thing worked awsome and installed with the system performance, it worked even better…i had the new movie “seven pounds” on my phone that i converted to .3gp and to a resolution of 320×240 and it still took a while to load when i clicked on it…but after installing both of these, the big 200mb file loads immediately and plays flawlessly, i can even click back and forth without waiting seconds in between! thx guys!!!
oh ya also, what i have been wondering like crazy is i used to have the old blackjack 1 and when you applied a picture to a wallpaper it kept its quality, but now i got the blackjack 2 and when i apply when now it takes away half the quality and now somehow it actually makes the teeth of eva longoria look messed up, when clearly she is a perfect, but is there anyway to fix this, kinda like the ringtone file size fix??? anway thx for what you have done so far.

This didn’t work at all for me, but then again, I didn’t use the GPS hack or SDA Application, as I am going on good faith that I don’t need it with Windows Mobile 6.1 :/ I really need a solution to how poorly BlackJack2 displays/compresses the wallpaper on my homescreen. I resize all high quality images to the proper dimensions of the phone’s display on my computer before I even add it to my BJ2, but still, it looks awful and pixelated. I just bought this phone a few days ago, and this aspect really disappoints me. HELPPPPPPP!

TypicallyTiffany – are you resizing all your images to 320×240 BEFORE copying them to your Blackjack II? If not do that. The blackjack ii will not be able to resize images nearly as well as Paint .NET (Free) or Photoshop.
April 5th, 2009 at 12:30 am
yes, I’m resizing them in Photoshop before I move them onto my blackjack II. the images are still very blotchy, despite the fact that they’re high quality. any suggestions?

TypicallyTiffany – can you email me one of your BG images that is “blotchy” .. my email is david@myblackjack2.com.
thanks

I can confirm that this worked for me on 6.1. When loading a .3gp video before installation the movies would take a second to load, and if i decided to FF it a little bit it would take a min to catch back up. So i installed it and it worked like charm…….
