Flexilis Beta 4 Released!
I posted about Flexilis a while ago and since then its really come into its own. Flexilis is a FREE anti-virus/firewall application that your Blackjack 2 that syncs with their online service allowing you to backup and restore all sorts of your Blackjack 2′s data.
In Beta 4, Flexilis has released an AWESOME new web interface that is really slick and easy to use. Since their initial release they’ve added the ability to restore the following to your phone:
- SMS
- Contacts
- Pictures
- Videos
- Sounds
- Calls
…along with a ton of other features.
This is really the perfect online back-up tool for everyone with an unlimited data plan. Flexilis also provides anti-virus and firewall functionality for your phone which is also pretty cool.
If you aren’t using this already, and have a unilimited data connection, I highly recommend you check it out.

I find a virus in the install cab.

I tried this. Really liked it until I needed to restore something to my blackjack and nothing happened
I even requested help and they never got back to me…

alandry – thats strange – can you verify all the information you wanted to restore was visible on the Flexilis web interface?

Same thing here. I backed up all my contacts and when I needed to restore, it restored maybe 7 out of many. I’m now manually re-entering my contacts and yes, this program does have a vires. I’m done with it and have deleted it off both of my phones, Monk….

Hey guys, sorry we missed these posts. ErneXt, Monkboon: no worries, those are just false positives. Eicar is a test string for viruses we check for, that kaspersky seems to have marked as a virus. (it’s not.) For more info about Eicar test files/strings, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eicar_test_file , or your favorite search result of choice from google, for more info. No viruses, everything’s all good.
Alandry65: sorry to hear that, which email address did you send your request to? we should have received it as long as it went to support at flexilis dot com, we do read and respond to all support requests, with pretty speedy turnaround times!
If anyone’s still using beta release 4, be sure to make sure you sync your devices to get the release 5 update, or log in to your Flexilis account and send your self the latest installer from the ‘add a new device’ drop down in the upper left. We’ve had many great improvements since release4, including a new interface for the online page and tools, and device protection features like locate, scream, and remote wipe!
