Samsung Blackjack 2 Available in Pink and Blue!

Samsung Blackjack 2 Available in Pink and Blue!

Samsung and AT&T are releasing the Samsung Blackjack II (SGH-i617) in two new colors: “Romantic Pink” and” Ocean Blue”. The new design sports a white front with colored keys and a silver D-Pad/Wheel, while the back is a minimalist 70′s-esque design. The back is a matte finish opposed to the gloss finish of the original black Blackjack 2.

Is this an attempt to push the remaining Blackjack II stock out the door? Or possibly a move to endear the younger generation to Samsung’s (previously business-y) Smartphone line up?

Yowsa, those are some ugly phones.
I think you’re right on about appealing to the younger crowd.
I don’t mind so much the front side with the silver, but the blue and pink could have been in better shades. or the art deco shapes…

Wife got a pink one last Thursday, the front is white and the back is a matte finish. The blue is very “electric”. She is very impressed with it and its capabilities, and made sure I performed each hack on hers that I did on mine. What’s wrong with appealing to a different demographic and market? It will make this phone even better.

Yeah, like I said on the actuall forums post, it would probably appeal to a teenage girl.

    jolly,
Does the front of the new phones have the same level of gloss as the original Blackjack IIs? Its nice to hear the back is a matter finish.

They presemted those new colors to me at the store on sunday before I got my black phone, they made the phone look really cheap!

I’ve had the pink one for a week and this is by far the weirdest picture I’ve seen of it colorwise. Maybe it’s my computer but that is nothing like the shades it truly is!

I don’t know how you could possibly call it ugly. the pink is really more pink than that picture shows. also, the white front has a sort of sheen to it. It’s very nice.

Not the same gloss level at all. So that means no smudges! Except the normal smudging on the screen.

I’m not a teenage girl though I think both appeal more to women in general.

    melissaaa,
thanks for the info. when i saved the image out i think it may have darked the colors for some reason. when i get back on friday ill recreate the image. thanks!

cool, no more smudges! i like the look of the blackjack over the glossy BJII..but i think ill stick with the black BJ2.

I think the Look nice, I just don’t like the art deco designs. A solid color would be nice. I am going to look at them and I hope they are not like the read one where the color scrapes off.

I think this is great…… Push the rest of these guys right out the door with a fresh new look……. Fine by me…… it is only gonna speed up the introduction of the BJ3……
